Oundle is an ancient market town on the River Nene in Northamptonshire, England, with a population of around 5,000. It is 80 miles north of London and 12 miles south-west of Peterborough.

Oundle is well-known for its public school, Oundle School. This was founded as a grammar school in 1556 by Sir William Laxton, Lord Mayor of London, who was born in Oundle. The school is maintained by the Worshipful Company of Grocers of the City of London and has eight boys' houses and five girls' houses, housing around 1000 pupils. The day school for local students was split off in 1876, and known as Laxton School, but was reunited in 2001.

The town also has a comprehensive school, Prince William School. Opened under another name in 1971 by Prince William of Gloucester, the school was renamed in his memory following his death in a plane crash in 1972.
